Today we went to London's South Bank Centre
At the beginning of the year, I entered the Lang Lang Inspires competition.
Unfortunately I didn't get in but we did get cheaper ticket because of that!
We went with Sabreena Yee Yee (er gugu)
Ticket cover case thing!
It's so cool!
Ticket!
the place sounds so posh :P
On the way there, we saw this statue.
I don't know what it is
but it's so cool!
People can make sculptures like that big out of stone or whatever,
and i can't even make a soap sculpture... =3="
Fox statue again!
we saw it twice. but on different sides of the road ;)
London Eye :D
It supposedly has a very good view of London :P
But i've never been &don't really want to...
I mean, what if it falls and smashes into the Thames and kills everyone!?
Or even worse, what if people go up and never come down! :O
Pretty building which we saw on our 5th or 6th time round
(we couldn't find the turning..
turns out anson saw it all along but didn't want to tell us...)
Yee yee took this one!
It sounds so happy! Reminds me of my friend :P
She never stops smiling ;)
People say I'm like that too...
I guess it's better to be eternally happy that miserable 90% of the time :P
like gesoff :) no one should be allowed to be that happy...
not that there's anything wrong with it :)
he cheers me up in maths.
the grand stage!
There are a total of 51 Steinway pianos on there!
They have 51 and we can't even afford 1... =-="
Stage take 2
The pianos took a grand total of 5 days to tune!
Those piano tuners are so hardworking!
Probably get paid a lot ;)
Lang Lang said he wanted to use technology to spread classical music around the world :D
so they have massive screens
and lots of cameras which they used for live feed...
that 10 year old boy's hands flew so fast when he played the Black Keys étude...
End of performance and we went down to look at the stage!
But before i tell that story, must tell you about Lang Lang's speech :D
Basically, he gave a speech about his journey and it was so inspiring!
He said:
"You have to find a way to keep loving what you do, and remember
to never ever give up!"
awwwww ~ so coool :D
He also said:
"The road to success is practice, practise and practise..."
haha anson ;)
The great one's piano!
It was an honour to stand so close :)
Mummy, Anson and me sitting on the stage...
can you see anson's giraffe t-shirt??
it's so cool, right?
There's a gap, ledge thing where we were sitting
and i nearly fell
because i'm little miss clumsy ;)
Not quite sure who that is stanging by the stage
but it's the stage!
TAKE 3
:3
After the show finished we went to look for a program to buy
because it's nice to have it for a keepsake thing ;)
but we looked everywhere and can't find it
o.O all the shops close early!
but anyways, here's a nice mural thing outside the gift shop
The nice lady at the ticket office gave us one free ;O
and then we bought the other one :D
lucky us!
By the way, Lang Lang plays the soundtrack for Gran Turismo 5 :)
oh and he is so funny, and so cool to watch.
sabreena yee yee says he's so cute the way he walked off the stage xD
A statue of Fryderyk Chopin :)
A gift from the polish in the 1970's...
He is a hero in the music world ;)
ahead of his time by so far!
not sure what the inscription says...
i can only see:
"... is the highest goal
... ... when you have
overcome all difficulties"
Whatever it says, i'm sure it's very inspirational
but if you can read it please tell me?
I'm very curious now :P
Now we leave the South Bank Centre
AND... *cue dramatic music*
Barclays bikes!
i tried to take the picture of the wheel but didn't get camera out fast enough :(
anyways it's pretty cool ;)
a Heinekin advert around the inside of the London IMAX :D
It's so cool!
wow i use the word cool a lot...
it used to be "amazing" but yeah...
oh wow i do that a lot too!
oh yeah back to the point:
clothes shop!
women's wear.
this is a photography comp. with anson ;)
The shop entrance
typical London storefront...
Other side of the entrance..
look at that man!
he's so good at posing for the camera ;)
When we watched Apprentice the other day,
Sir Alan Sugar sent the teams to buy 10 items for the Savoy Hotel's reoppening.
they had trouble with the top hat.
it's the one that the men in red are wearing ;)
also, i got a porsche carrera in the shot,
and a London city bus!
I should have won by now...
But now I do ;)
i got Johnny Depp :P
and Penelope Cruz...
did you know she was pregnant when that was filmed...?
lol not very interesting but ya...
the bricks are just an extra feature i added in to make it more lovely ;)
joking~!
And dinner is served.
Looks yummy right?
A lot of it was very very spicy :O
Hui xsin dze dze's favourite
but me and anson don't like too spicy because we aren't from m'sia
like you guys ;P
Dinner take 3
Lang Lang's towel :P
mummy took it and then smelled it xD
she says it smells sweaty but definitely him.
i said, "How do you know?"
it could have been Steve, Lang Lang's page turner.
he was jumping up and down every 5 secs turning a page for the great one xD
but Lang Lang was jumping up and down when he played xP
Speaking of page turning...
you should really watch this video of a guy page turning xD
i tried to find the link but can't find it T-T
Basically, he's so rubbish and he keeps turning the page at the wrong time
and then the pianist gets annoyed and gives him the finger xD
anyways I got to watch one of my idols/role models/whatever the word is :P
I'm so happy about that!
One day i'm going to see him live in concert in concerto :D
